Here‘s my take on things you can focus on in this area:
1) Too many expectations - comparison is the thief of joy, don’t let somebody else’s highlight reel devalue your own movie.
2) Harsh self judgement - if we give too much power to our inner critic, it will never allow us to be free, celebrate your small wins and cultivate an attitude of gratitude every day, you can’t be too critical with yourself if you’re patting yourself on the back for things you have achieved!
3) Preoccupation with fear - don’t allow your fear to get in the way of success. Fear is a creation of your mind. It’s largely based on historical information it’s been fed and in many cases bares no direction relation to reality. You can work with fear as it tends to show up when we are pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone so it’s a useful barometer but just don’t let it rule you or your decision making process.
4) Lack of experience - only way you can solve this is by getting your feet wet. Get stuck in!
5) Lack of skills - if there’s an area of your life that you need to improve in order to move forward, write down the skills that would help and develop a plan to learn/implement these. If you want to be a musician, focus on developing your guitar playing, listening to more music of the type you want to write, create an environment to give you the space to write and focus on those skills, submerse yourself in field, surround yourself with creative people.....
If you think you can or you think you can’t you’re probably correct.
